ISPE (TCP): ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE logs and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library.
The Charter Drama Class Presents: Come see one of the best American plays ever written: "You Can't Take it With You." This play has everything -- lunacy, tenderness, romance, criminal activity, Russian immigrants, and has never failed to delight audiences whenever and wherever performed. Play dates are February 24, and 25. Curtain is at 7:15 p.m., admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Do not miss this show.
Freshmen Note (TCP): ECHS will conduct physical fitness testing for all freshmen on February 29 and March 1. Because physical fitness testing is required by the State of California, all ECHS freshmen are required to participate in the assessment. TCP students will be tested after school from 3:05 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. TCP students have been assigned a specific testing day according to the first letter of their last name as scheduled below:

Attention ECHS Family and Friends: American Heritage Education Foundation and Escondido Charter High School is proud to present the 10th Annual AHEF Golf Tournament and Fundraiser to be held on Monday, March 12 at the Vineyard Golf Course here in Escondido. This year's event will include golf, lunch, dinner, raffles, silent action and more. This event will be fun for all with all proceeds benefiting our students and ECHS. AP Exam Registration: It’s time to register for AP Exams! To register for one or more exams, students need to submit a deposit ($13 per exam) or pay in full ($87 per exam) by Friday, March 2. Submit payments (cash, exact change required, or check made payable to ECHS) to Mrs. Endermann in the library. Students may use one check to pay for multiple exams. If exam fees present a financial hardship for your family, see Mrs. McCrory to discuss a fee reduction. Note: In order to meet the exam ordering deadline established by CollegeBoard, exams will only be ordered for students who submit payment by March 2.
Career Information Night: Solutions: Exploring Success Post High School is sponsoring an information night for students interested in careers in the Visual, Performing, and Digital Media Arts on Tuesday, February 28 at 6:00 p.m. Parents and students are invited to attend an informative evening with panelists who represent a diverse range of careers in the visual, performing, and digital arts. Panelists will describe what they do, how they turned their creative interests into their current career, and field questions. The event is free to attend and will be held at Del Norte High School Performing Arts Center (16601 Nighthawk Lane, San Diego, CA 92127).
Community Service: Heritage K-8 is looking for high school students to serve as tutors and mentors for students in grades 5-8. Tutoring and mentoring will take place after-school at Heritage K-8. Volunteers would be expected to serve one hour after-school 1-2 days per week. Take this opportunity to make a difference in the life of a student in our own district and earn your community service hours at the same time. Scholarships: Eight new scholarships for seniors are posted on the bulletin board in the library. Scholarships are being offered by several local organizations including The Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Escondido Police Officer’s Association, San Diego Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction, and North County Italian Association. Stop by to see if you are qualified to apply for one or more of these valuable scholarships. The newly posted scholarships have March deadlines, so don’t delay!
“Stuck for a Buck”: Ever wondered what it would be like to tape Mr. Torres or Mr. Smith to the clock tower? Well stop wondering and start taping! On Friday, February 24, in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, you can purchase pieces of duct tape for $1 a piece in an attempt to attach some of our beloved teachers to the clock tower. Remember that in order to be STUCK, they need your BUCKS!
Pasta for Pennies: Congratulations to the following classes that are in the lead- Soule, Dunlap, Prodan, and ILP. Their funds range from $50-$200. Remember that Friday is the last day to donate and help out the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Palomar Testing: If you are a graduating senior planning to attend Palomar College upon graduation, consider participating in the Palomar Early Assessment Program (EAP) on Friday, March 2. Seniors who participate in EAP are given priority registration for fall classes. TCP students should see Mrs. McCrory to sign-up and ILP students should see Mr. Gidner.
Deli: Thursday, February 23, come and enjoy carne asada with fresh salsa and lettuce served over a soft tortilla. The price is $3.50, or $5 with a soda and chips.
ILP Informational Meeting: Are you or someone you know interested in the Individualized Learning Program? There will be an Open House for students and parents interested in the Individualized Learning Program (ILP) on Tuesday, February 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the ECHS American Spirit Theater. The Experience of a Lifetime: Escondido Charter High School, (ECHS) is beginning to enroll international high school students into our Individualized Learning Program (ILP). We are looking for families who want the rewarding experience of hosting our international students. Families are expected to provide 3 meals per day, transportation to and from school and a caring environment. International students stay from 9 -12 months. Families are compensated $875 per month. Key Club: Attention all Key Club members! Just a reminder that our weekly meetings will no longer be held in the American Spirit Theater. From now on, meetings will be held in Mrs. Dunlap’s room, E200 on Wednesdays at lunch.
